The Beacon product is a Web based solution for Tank container and Box container operators, Shipping companies, Rail operators and Freight forwarders. |

Customer Quotation module – Allows entry of Customer Quotations including Product information, Charges, expected Costs, integration of customer and vendor Tariffs, Approval request and Route planning. |

Transport Order module – Offers automatic generation of Orders from Approved Quotations, with Multiple Tank allocation, Movement update and Equipment tracking. Provides a comprehensive view of Cost and Charge profit analysis. |

Vendor and Customer Tariff Database – Stores standard rates by Vendor / Customer, Route, Product and Currency. Allows lookup and retrieval of Tariffs into the Quotation and Order modules. |

Sales Invoicing – Automated Single or Group Invoice generation using Customer Order Charges. |

Tank Container Database – Stores Tank Container technical specifications including dimensions, weights, pressures, certifications and capacities. Enables entry of Test dates, view of Product history and storage of PDF Calibration charts and Test certificates. |

Tank Tracking module – Allows viewing of current and planned Tank location and usage. Alerts users of expired and due Tank test dates. |

Reporting and Booking Documents – Comprehensive Management Reports interface into PDF format. Booking documents, created specifically for your Company’s requirements, can be printed or emailed directly to logistic parties. |

Interface to third party software – Including MS Excel, MS Word, Email Servers, PDF Acrobat Reader and Accounting solutions. |

EDI messaging module – Sends Tank status change messages to EDI partners. Configuration and development required to meet your Company’s specifications. |

Beacon has been designed using a Model-View-Controller architectural pattern to make use of Enterprise Java Servlets, Apache Struts framework and Hibernate patterns. It connects to a single MySQL data source that can be accessed globally by any secure PC on the Internet or Intranet. |

A Tomcat Apache Version 5.5 Web server powers the Beacon application, which makes it scaleable from single-user, to multi-user, guaranteeing that it can expand to meet any business requirements. |
